My Story

Here’s a little information about Soggy provided by one of our volunteers:
“This is Soggy. If she’s not full blood German Shepherd, she sure is close! Beautiful markings and that slinky sleek trot would make her a catch for someone special. She is so very sweet and loves to be petted so much. She leans in real close for snuggles. There weren’t other dogs around but she seemed interested in where they had been. She wasn’t much into chasing a ball.”
Hi I’m Stella! I’m a gentle and lovey 2 year old shepherd mix who can’t stop wagging my tail. My favorite thing is to lean against you and sit by your feet for pets, while staring up at you with love in my eyes. But I can take a hint if you need alone time and am happy to nap in my bed.
I must have been someone’s pet because I am crate, leash, and house trained! I’m also quiet as a church mouse, my foster mom still hasn’t heard me bark! Though I came to the shelter severely emaciated, I am not food aggressive. You can pet me and put your hands in my food bowl while I’m eating. And don’t worry about pet hair on your furniture, I’m such a good girl I came already trained not to get on furniture unless invited! And if you whistle I will come a’runnin to you!
I am still learning boundaries with exploring and getting into things because I’m so smart and curious. So it’s better for me to be crated when I’m alone. But I’ve already mastered not getting up on counters! I am eager to please and I’m learning the rules quickly: within 24 hours I learned my foster mom’s rules about no begging and staying behind her before I go outside! I’m super super smart!
I’m good with with other dogs and great with cats, and love people/kids. Though I did try to mount other dogs during play dates, I respond great to corrections and this should improve once I’m fixed. I’d love to join you on outdoor adventures and walks. But I’m also very happy to relax during the day as long as I’m being stimulated with daily activity (ps I love to play tug-o-war!).
I may have one floppy ear that won’t stand all the way up at times, but don’t let that deter you! Take a chance on me and let me change your world with all the love I can give. I just want to love you and be a good girl for you. I will follow you anywhere!
