My Story

My name is Amber and I am 2 years old and weigh 45 pounds. People have asked my mom what breed I am and she doesn’t know, but I am 100% good girl. I have been with my foster dad, mom and canine brother for several weeks. Here is what a typical day might look like for me. My mom doesn’t need an alarm clock because I wake her with sloppy kisses because I need to go out and also because I love her. Then we have breakfast before doing one of my favorite things going to the park!
I am a well behaved lady in the car and just look out the window. Once we get to the park, I am ready to get those steps in as I am a very active girl. I don’t pay much attention to the strollers, bikes, or people. If people approach me, I enjoy them petting me. I am curious about the geese and ducks, but don’t try to go after them. I do pull when I see other dogs. My mom is always saying sorry to the humans. I don’t know why, I just want to play.
I enjoy toys and playing tug of war with the rope with my brother. We also play this game whatever toy you have I want. I love my brother and like to be around him, but he can be BORING! I hope if there is a dog in my forever home they will match my energy and playfulnesses.
My second favorite thing is playing catch with dad in the afternoon. He counted one time that he threw the ball for me 53 times. He acted like that was a lot, but I could have kept going. I love my doggie pool to jump in to cool off. I like bobbing for tennis balls. I put my entire face in the water and blow bubbles.
When it is time to start preparing dinner, mom and dad think I am in there to supervise. To be honest, I am hoping they will drop something and I can have a snack. My third favorite thing is meal time. I burn lots of calories, so I am always ready to eat and have  dog treats. My mom always makes me sit to get a treat (which I take gently) and she is trying to teach me this down thing, but I am not into it. Why do I have to work for a snack?
I will end this by saying my mom said I need to go to a home with older children because I jump and can be mouthy. I disagree as I have met children at an adoption event and at the park and I did neither of those things. I just do that at home if I get really excited. Mom said she is just trying to set me up for success and wants my next home to be my last one.
