My Story

Little Forrest came into rescue in rough shape: on death’s door in a hypoglycemic coma. The litter had a bad upper respiratory infection, and his plugged up nose and eyes didn’t allow him to smell or see to be able to nurse. He was starving. It was touch and go, but he made it through the first night. He had to be tube fed for several days until he had enough strength to be bottle fed. After that, we still were not sure of the poor little guy’s fate. He still needed to conquer the upper respiratory infection, and a nasty load of intestinal parasites. At first, to sit up or stand or walk, he would wobble. He had no muscle mass, no energy and no strength. He was HALF the size of his litter mates. He gradually gained weight and strength and now as a 10 week old kitten, just a little smaller than his littermates, otherwise he’s all caught up on milestones! He can run and jump and play, but still remains so sweet and cuddly – I think he got quite used to the extra affection, attention and nursing he needed to save his life. An odd but cute little trait he has is he loves to perch on people’s shoes when they are sitting.
Forrest is 10 weeks old. He is a black tiger stripe kitten with a white chest and adorable little socks (white paws). He is dewormed and litter box trained. He has been raised in a home with kids, dogs and other cats since 3-4 weeks old. He will be neutered, FVRCP vaccinated and FeLV/FIV tested July 17 and will be available for adoption immediately after.
His adoption fee is $50
