My Story
Well hello there! I don’t blame you for looking at my bio. I am rather handsome if I say so myself!
My name is Mica but I am not really sold on that name so if you wanted to call me something else, that would be okay with me. I’m a bit over a year old, maybe a year and a half?
I don’t remember much about my childhood except landing in the “joint” at a young age.
I was in a very small, rural shelter in Utah that has only 5 kennels and my time was running out.
They take dogs like me back to a room and well…..they don’t walk out of there.
My foster mom said she would take me and I was spared! Oh how grateful I am to her to have a new lease on life! I am one of the lucky ones she says.
I bonded very fast to my foster mom because nobody had ever told me that I was a “good boy” or “handsome”. I’m learning to play fetch and I LOVE other dogs, especially my sister who is a great dane. I’m told that I play a bit rough but nothing that some supervision and a “beep” from an E collar doesn’t redirect. I free play with 9 other dogs and I’m doing great.
My Mom is working on house training me but I’m smart so I’m going to catch on quick. I’ll show her! I also enjoy butt rubs, walks, new smells and such. I don’t much care for fast moving objects like people on bikes. I bark and lunge at those guys. They are up to no good, I just know it!
Mom says it’s my prey drive and fast moving children may not be good for me either.
We have a boy in the home who is 12. He’s pretty cool but I love my adult people the most.
I was tested by a nice lady to see if I would be a good candidate for police work or search and rescue. Well, I was just more concerned as to where my foster mom was and peeing on things to get my smell out in the world……I guess that’s not what they are looking for so I didn’t get that job.
House dog it is! I’ll just sit around and wait for a subsidy payment (aka dog food and treats).
Doesn’t hurt my feelings any! Please won’t somebody give me a chance?
