My Story
Shikamaru is a bouncy young pup with a playful, goofy personality and energy for days. A couch potato he is not! Nope, this boy is ready for adventure and with a bit of training would make a great hiking or jogging buddy. In his former home Shikamaru did well with young kiddos and other dogs and was reportedly housebroken and crate trained. His former people described him as playful, friendly, and affectionate. Heres what his friends at the shelter have said: Shikamaru is a nice, young, energetic boy. I took him to a play yard and after sniffing around initially, he got the zoomies. I threw a tennis ball and he chased it but didnt seem to know what to do with it. After I got a treat out, he sat without being asked and then laid down when I didnt give him the treat fast enough. He seems smart and eager to please, he just needs direction and a chance to get his sillies out. He came when called, made great eye contact, and checked in with me regularly. When I started petting him, he leaned into my leg and soaked up any affection he could get. He has a ton of potential and would likely make a great family pet. In the play yard Shikamaru leaned in eagerly for pets. Hes very attentive- he sits promptly on command, and when asked to lay down, he not only lays down but also rolls over! Hes very treat-motivated and sweet. He made me giggle when he took his treats belly-up without rolling back over. An easygoing and lovable dog. During a short stay in a home Shikamaru was described as a total sweetheart who did great with a toddler and played well with the resident dogs. He was housebroken with a doggy door and was playful and affectionate with his people. Shikamaru shares his kennel and has been playful and social when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Hed like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure its a good fit and needs a home without cats. Ask to meet Shikamaru today!!
